1. The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Abubakar Adamu, has banned the personnel of the Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad, FSARS.

The police force in a statement signed by PPRO, Frank Mba demanded that all stop and search duties and patrols by SARS be terminated with immediate effect.

2. The Minister of State, Labour and Employment,Festus Keyamo, yesterday said operatives of Special Anti-Robbery Squad, SARS, didn’t kill anybody in Ughelli, Delta State.

Keyamo said information from the state Police Commissioner, in Ughelli, and the brother of the alleged victim, Ochuko said he is not dead.

3. Vice President Yemi Osinbajo and the Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, met yesterday over the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, SARS, and issues of police reform.

Osinbajo, who gave details of the meeting, said President Buhari is very concerned about it and wants to see a reform.

4. Convener of Concerned Nigerians,Deji Adeyanju, has reacted to the Inspector General of Police, IGP, Mohammed Adamu’s ban on Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad, F-SARS.

Adeyanju said the ban should not be rhetoric but permanent, adding that SARS operatives should not be seen on the roads again.

5. A former Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Vice Presidential candidate, Peter Obi, yesterday denied using operatives of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, SARS, to harass people of Anambra State while we was governor.

Obi explained that he only supported SARS operatives with operational vehicles and logistics but never armed them to harass citizens.

6. Tension heightened in Akure, the Ondo State capital yesterday morning when thugs suspected to be from the camp the of All Progressive Congress, APC, and the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, attacked each other.

During the fracas, sporadic shootings rented the air as motorists and passers-by scampered for safety.

7. General Overseer of Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has decreed that sponsors of terrorism in Nigeria will not see the New Year.

Adeboye, who made the declaration during Sunday service, declared that terrorist and any sponsor of terrorists in Nigeria, will not see cross into 2021.

8. The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has advised President Muhammadu Buhari not to renege on his resolve not to interfere in elections, especially the October 10 governorship election in Ondo State.

The PDP National spokesman, Kola Ologbondiyan, Mr Kola Ologbondiyan, who made the call at a press conference on Sunday in Abuja, urged Buhari not to succumb to the pressure of those plotting to use violence and ‘federal might’ to muscle the Ondo governorship election against the wishes and aspirations of the people of the state.

9. Popular Nigerian singer, Naira Marley, has announced that he would be leading a protest tomorrow against injustice meted out on Nigerians.

Naira Marley who had earlier declined participation in any protest over fear of going to prison, announced on his Twitter page that some SARS officials would join the protest.

10. Gunmen suspected to be Fulani bandits have attacked two communities in Batsari Local Government Area of Katsina State.

Report says that no fewer than nine persons have been killed by the bandits while numerous others were left injured and many more kidnapped.
