FUOYE to begin first semester exam 10th June, releases exam eligibility criteria

Kindly be informed that 2018/2019 first semester examination has been scheduled to commence on 10th June, 2019. Consequently, only duly registered students would be allowed into the examination hall after the provision of the following documents. 1. Coloured print online course registration form signed and stamped by the HOD. 2. School fee payment receipt signed and stamped by the Bursary. 3. University I. D. Card. Also, all students are advised to make the required payments as prescribed by the University. i.e full payment for 100L students and at least 70% for returning students. School gardener beats WAEC candidate to death

A SS3 student of Jubril Martins Memorial College, Iponri Lagos, Rafiu Adagun, has been beaten to death during the ongoing West Africa Examination Council (WAEC) by a gardener, Femi Aderounmu. Eyewitnesses said the 15-year-old was killed after Aderounmu laid an ambush for him following a rift, which was settled by the school authorities earlier. University degrees no longer meal ticket, Buhari tells graduates

President Muhammadu Buhari has reminded Nigerian graduates that earning a university degree is no longer a meal ticket. Buhari stated this on Friday at the 13th Convocation for the conferment of higher degrees, postgraduate diplomas and honorary degrees of the Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Anambra State. He told the graduates that university degrees and diplomas would rather assist them to grapple with challenges of life. While saying that his administration would address youth unemployment and underemployment, Buhari called on the youths to embrace the opportunities the Federal Government had put in place to mitigate the unemployment situation. METRO NEWS: Protest in FUTA as hit-and-run driver kills student

Students of the Federal University of Technology, Akure, Ondo State, on Wednesday protested against the killing of one of their colleagues, identified as Israel Anuolowapo, by a hit-and-run driver. Anuolowapo, a 100-level student of the Department of Mathematics, was allegedly crushed to death in front of the university main gate on Tuesday. During the protest, the students reportedly barricaded the Ilesa-Akure Expressway, singing solidarity songs The protest was said to have caused gridlock on the road, as motorists, especially travellers, were delayed for several hours. The students demanded that the Federal Ministry of Power, Works and Housing erect speed bumps on the expressway to reduce such incidents.
