Individual Greed Responsible for Ekiti Current Sordid Realities - Oni

A former Governor of Ekiti State, Engnr. Segun Oni, has attributed the current sordid realities in the state to individual greed, incompetence, insensitivity and political dictatorship.

The Elder Statesman made the disclosure while hosting the peoples' democratic party, PDP leaders across the state, at his residence in Ifaki-Ekiti.

Engnr. Oni, who is also one of the Governorship aspirants under the umbrella of the PDP in the state's 2022 governorship poll, charged the good people of Ekiti state to rise up to their responsibilities  by speaking up, in order to put an end to the current narrative in the state.

The former Governor also urged the people of the state to strongly kick against imposition of candidates, adding that incompetent individuals should not be allowed to pilot the affairs of the state no matter what.

"It's high time Ekiti people embraced good governance and stop chasing shadows. 

"No government operates from the middle will ever satisfy the yearnings of the electorates.  Godfatherism is a complete aberration and as such, suicidal!; he said."

While charging the party leaders to go back to their various constituencies and preach his gospel of a "Better Governance", which centers on restructuring at all levels, Engnr Oni admonished them to work hard to make the dream a reality.

"The state's apex seat shouldn't be occupied by mediocres and incompetent individuals.

For the sake of posterity, we all have a vital role to play in reshaping  our dear state.

We should not fold our arms and watch Ekiti collapse completely. The future of our youths is at stake as the government of the day is nonchalant about the welfare and development of youths in the state. It's time for Ekiti youths to sòrò sókè!; Oni exclaimed."

The party leaders, led by Honorable Kehinde Olusegun,  applauded Segun Oni for his willingness to serve the people of the state again, adding that his antecedents and good works are enough to catapult him to the state's apex seat come 2022.

They also pledged their full support and backup for the realization of his vision, which they described as sacrosanct and timely.
