The FUOYESU stakeholders meeting, held today, ended in abrupt chaos as a result of issues relating to the student Union caretaker committee delegation.
Comrade Awe, a member of the SRC, representing the department of demography and social statistics starred up the argument, which hit the wrong cord in the acclaimed faculty Presidents, who also happens to be members of the SUG caretaker committee.
He laid claim that a larger number of the current SUG caretaker committee members are Presidents of various faculties in the school, hence, becoming unconstitutional for them to hold two different executive portfolios at the same time, or better still, resign from the former post and handover immediately to their vice Presidents, if they should continue with the current appointment.
The faculty Presidents therefore discredited the claim, owing to the fact that their current appointment was through delegation, and not through electoral activities.
They also said that none of them begged to be members of the committee, hence, admonishing all parties in doubt to consult the Union legal adviser for clarification where necessary.
The acting President of the Union, Comrade Tope Anifowose implored all concerned persons to handle the issue with care, as the Union is in a very dicey state.
He advised all stakeholders to desist from injecting all forms of sentiments and personal interests, hoping to rebuild the Union, only with the support of the student populace, within the little time at their disposal.
