At its worst, unlawful use of force by police can result in people being deprived of their right to life. If police force is unnecessary or excessive, it may also amount to torture or other ill-treatment. Unlawful force by police can also violate the right to be free from discrimination, the right to liberty and security, and the right to equal protection under the law. In countries with high rates of killings by police, there is often a combination of factors including inadequate laws, racial or other forms of discrimination, insecurity or conflict, and entrenched impunity. My point of view on this is in two ways. First I would say its a blessing in disguise for those going into journalism because this is an opportunity for them to have a proper training and full insight in journalism. With my observation and assumption journalism as a branch of mass communication has the highest employment opportunity in Nigeria. My second point of view on this goes thus; Changing mass communication to its seven major branches is not good enough why because there are just three out of seven that has high porous level of employment, where will the others work. Its not the matter of creating more courses but organizations where graduates of those courses can work. If I had a say, would have suggested to go on with mass communication instead of Piecesing it.
