Alleged cultists attacks FUOYE students, leaves two injured. By Ayomide Shadrach

Acclaimed cult members, at the late hours of yesterday, attacked some FUOYE students, leaving at least two injured.

The incident happened at passion unisex saloon, located along school road, before sawmill junction, where students were charging their various gadgets.

Abimbola Shadrach, a member of the FMCT and also one of the victims, reported that two guys were putting on a combination of yellow and black outfit, which infuriated two confraternity guys, hence, unleashing their anger through beating.

"It was indeed a tensed moment. After the beating, a guy at the barbing saloon challenged them. They got angry and also beat him up at the same spot. The aggrieved victim, also belonging to a confraternity narrowly escaped in annoyance and went to call his boss know as "ABU", who came with his gang, with the intention to retaliate, but didn't meet the real perpetrators, hence, transferring aggression on us.

We were beaten out of the barber's shop with stick. On this account, a friend of mine, RACHAEL got injured on her right leg and I was as well attacked with charm on my back"; he said.

The affected students have therefore shown their dissatisfaction, on the account that students, especially ladies, faces divers threats and victimizations without any measure to counter such.

If police force is unnecessary or excessive, it may also amount to torture or other ill-treatment. Unlawful force by police can also violate the right to be free from discrimination, the right to liberty and security, and the right to equal protection under the law.           In countries with high rates of killings by police, there is often a combination of factors including inadequate laws, racial or other forms of discrimination, insecurity or conflict, and entrenched impunity. Governments who routinely trample on other human rights like freedom of expression and peaceful assembly often a...
